Life Snippets #13

It's time for another episode of photo purging.

Life Snippets, The August Edition:

Friends of ours just recently bought a house on the Clackamas river.
The kids and I headed out one afternoon to check it out.

This is a tiny portion of the backyard.
It's like a flippin' park.
All.  That.  Gardening.  Space.

The river is a short walk from the house.

Please, someone, tell me what the heck this is.
Or was.

I'm pretty sure I could get used to having this in my backyard.

The kids wouldn't hate it either.

So pretty.

Back to reality, this is what life with kids really looks like.

The culprits.

As for these next few, I have no idea.

Don't all kids run around in the yard at night, half naked, picking blueberries and whacking each other with sticks?

Speaking of picking things out of the yard, how 'bout some August harvest pics?
We were not short in the cucumber department this year.

The very first cherry tomato harvest.

Tomatoes and Japanese Eggplant.

Fresh from the garden.

Tomato and basil salad for dinner.

This is the corn we grew, picked, grilled, and ate last week.

More kid randomness.
They had this setup going on the floor in the girls' room for over a week - and played with it for HOURS.
Something about feeding animals.
There was an elephant sanctuary, and that's all I know about that.

A typical end to a summer day.

Cousins at the kid table.

Trying to figure out what to do with my fun burlap coffee bags.

The Cat.

The Girl's requested stuffed portobellas, ready for the oven.
Tomatoes, feta, basil, garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.

More of The Cat.
Isn't he sweet?

And last, life with the fam.

The End.
